Professional Profile: I was trained in Dublin, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Vancouver and appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in 1994 to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
My main clinical interests are in the management of knee injuries and sports injuries in general. I run a specialist knee clinic at the Royal Infirmary which deals with a wide range knee problems, with an emphasis on the management of acute knee injuries in sports. My Spire Murrayfield practice reflects this pattern but I also deal with general lower limb trauma referrals.
I am involved in clinical and basic research, mainly related to knee disorders and lower limb trauma. I have authored or co-authored over 90 peer reviewed scientific publications in the field of orthopaedics and 20 book chapters in orthopaedic textbooks.
Personal Profile: I have lived in Scotland since 1988 and in Edinburgh since 1991. I am married to Felicity who is also a doctor and working in the city. My main interests outside medicine are skiing, cycling and music.
Fees: My fees range from £180 for an initial consultation to £110 for a follow up visit.
