Teaching
I am a founder member of the ‘Watanabe Group’ which comprises a group of shoulder surgeons across the UK who run biannual meetings in order to train senior trainees and consultants in the field of shoulder arthroscopy.
Professional Profile
I completed a one year Fellowship in Toronto in 1998/1999 with Anthony Miniaci which included shoulder arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery, as well as soft tissue knee surgery and cartilage grafting work.
I was appointed a Consultant in Edinburgh in January 1999 and I specialise in shoulder surgery, with a special interest in shoulder arthroscopy and also shoulder reconstruction and replacement surgery. I also do soft tissue knee surgery and have an interest in cartilage grafting work.
Personal Profile
My outside interests involve running marathons and competing in triathlons. I also enjoy surfing and on calmer days, sea kayaking.
