Professional Profile
I have been a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Edinburgh since 1987, and have an honorary Senior Lecturer appointment with the University of Edinburgh.

Having previously had a very general practice including trauma and elective surgery, I now specialise in arthroplasty surgery but I continue to manage children with fractures and other injuries. In addition I carry out a significant volume of foot surgery.

Training
I am the College Regional Advisor for Orthopaedic Surgery and am actively involved in the training of junior doctors as a trainer and as an educational supervisor.

I have been chairman of the South East of Scotland Specialty training committee for the past 10 years and am a member of the national Specialty Advisory Committee in Orthopaedic Surgery.

I am an examiner for the Inter Collegiate Fellowship Examination in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
